Day 5: Friendly Manitoba - Winnipeg, MB - Thunder Bay, ON

Friendly Manitoba
We've met many friendly people in Winnipeg. For instance, we were told directions by a very nice woman when we got lost at the park mentioned below. The B&B hosts were also very nice and kind. So we were wondering why people were so nice there. Then, we saw a number plate that said "Friendly Manitoba". This cute "message on the number plate" made us smile.

Highlight:
1. Winnie The Pooh - http://www.assiniboinepark.ca/
Needless to say, Winnipeg is the home of Winne The Pooh. One of the reasons why we decided to stop and stay in Winnipeg was to see the bronze statue of Winne The Pooh at the Assiniboine Park. Everyone in the world knows Winnie The Pooh but many people we met in Winnipeg did not even know where the brown statue was located in the park. Quite surprised!

Quite big gate and building (but burnt twice) by the french immigrants who wanted to preach Christianity．






4．Entering into Ontario -
We definitely saw the difference in scenery between Saskachewan and Ontario. Popular trees were just gorgeous in yellow!

フレンドリーマニトバ
ウィニペグの人たちは本当に親切な人が多かった！道に迷っていた時や、公園内を散歩している人、B&Bのホスト。と にかく皆親切。ふと車のナンバープレートを見ると、そこにはフレンドリーマニトバの字が。マニトバのキャッチフレーズがフレンドリーとは、なんだか微笑ま しい気分になりました。

ハイライト：
1.くまのプーさん
ウィニペグはあの「くまのプーさん」発祥の地。プーさんの誕生に由来する銅像を人目みようとアシニボイン公園へ。くまのプーさんは世界中で有名なのだから、さぞかしいたる所に色々な銅像があるのだろうと思っていたら、公園内を色々な人に声をかけてやっと発見できました。ウィニペグは全然くまのプーさんには興味が無いらしい。。。

2.マニトバ州議事堂

3.サン、ボニファス大聖堂
フランス系移民がカトリック伝道のために築いた大聖堂。２度の家事で今は門だけに。高さ４７メートル。でかい！！

4．オンタリオ州到達
オンタリオ州に入るとサチュカチュアワンでの大平原がうそかのような山々。一面のポプラの木が黄色に紅葉してとても綺麗でした。
