Day 12: Historic City - Montreal, QC - Quebec City, QC

We left Montreal for Quebec City early in the morning. Kumi was so amazed to see the old part of Quebec City when we got there. We walked around both upper and lower Old City (UNESCO World Heritage), but we did not really mind or feel tired of just walking around the city becasue it was just so cute and beautiful. Kumi says that "J'aime Quebec. (I love Quebec!)"

Highlights:
1. Upper Town
The town is surrounded by stone wall and displays many old cannons. This really shows the history of battles between Franch and UK. At the same time, the town is really a "sightseeing town" and has a lot of shops that attract tourists. We both think that this uniqueness really is worth for the UNESCO World Heritage.

2. Lower Town
Upper Town is kind of a pop town because it has a lot of colourful stores and well designed buildings. On the other hand, Lower town is well-poised and has a lot of stone buildings and roads. There is a beautiful painting on the builing wall that we really liked. We pretended to be a part of the painting.

3. Citadel
This is the largest fort in Canada that separates old town(s) from the new town. We loved the view from there!

4. Quebec Legislative Building

今日は朝一でモントリオールからケベックまで移動。ケベックの城砦で囲まれた旧市外は全体が世界遺産らしい！今日は旧市街のアッパータウン＆ロウワータウンをメインに歩き回ったけど、町があまりに可愛くて、徒歩も苦にならないくらい１日中とても楽しかったです。"J'aime Quebec. (I love Quebec!)"

ハイライト：

１.旧市街（アッパータウン）
城砦に囲まれ、いたる所に大砲が残されている都市はフランス軍とイギリス軍が戦った歴史を感じさせつつ、観光地となった今、とても沢山のショップが並び、どの建物もとても可愛く、全てが絵本の中の世界の様。この旅で１番テンション上がりましたー！

２．旧市街（ロウワータウン）
アッパータウンはカラフルのお店が多くポップな雰囲気なのに比べて、ロウワータウンは道も建物も全て石畳で出来ていて落ち着いた雰囲気で、ここもまたとてもいい感じ。大きな壁画にはケベックの歴史が描かれていたので、自分達も壁画の１部になってみました！

３.シタデル
カナダにある最大の要塞。アッパータウンからシタデルまで歩くと、旧市街とセントローレンス川が見渡せ、とても綺麗でした。

４.ケベック州議事堂
恒例の議事堂シリーズ。
